ABCD is a trapezium and AD parallel BC . AD= 14 cm and BC = 16 cm . If AF =1/2 BC and 3 times the area of ABEF = 2 times the area of ABCD . Find BE

When you have a trapezoid, Sam (a quadrilateral with one pair of parallel sides, the area is equal to:

 

Area = h * (a + b)/2

 

where h is the height or perpendicular distance between the 2 parallel sides of length a and b (a = AD, b = BC).
