1/8 is the probability that head will appear three consecutive times. This probability is different from what is asked. The statement "No consecutive heads occur on three tosses" includes the possibilities to occur two consecutive times also. Thus, 5 of 8 is a correct answer. In your case it would be 1-1/8 = 7/8 - probability that head doesn't appear three consecutive times (it is not the same as consecutive heads in three tosses).

You are correct.  I apologize for my misunderstanding.  I missed the word "no" in "no consecutive times".
