     how many games it takes to get one run   (this seems pretty sad)

  or you could tell:

     how many runs per game   (this means a score of one or more per game;  better)

 

So, how many runs per game is 9 runs in 3 games?

    9 runs / 3 games    =   3 runs/game          (reduce 9/3 to 3/1 and remember units)
