x values= 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22

y values= 7,8,13,19,20,24,32,37,38,41,47

How do I find the equation for this line?

x values= 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22

This looks like you needed to write an equation for the line of best fit, because this is not a line.

Since this is not exactly a line, I assume you want to do a linear curve fit.

With TI-84's STAT function, I got the equation of the curve fit line is

y = 2.068x + 1.182

Hi Caiti;

Is this exactly how the question was presented to you?

I can easily understand the rule for the x values, but not y.

For what class is this, geometry, calculus or something else?
