To determine the perimeter such as fence length, it is 2L +2W,  

 

Perimeter: p = 1080 

 

Length is 80 + Width;

 

Therefore: 2(80 +w) + 2w = 1080

 

160 + 2w +2w = 1080

 

4w = 1080-160

 

4w = 920

 

w = 920/4

 

w = 230

 

Length is 230 + 80 = 310
