the length of a rectangle is six time its width. if the the perimeter of the rectangle is 126cm. find its area

Let length = 6x

Perimeter = 126 cm

 

Set up an equation for the perimeter.

14x = 126

 

x = 9

width = 9 cm

length = 54 cm
