Why are you rationalizing it with -i sqrt 180 and not i sqrt 180?

They rationalized with -i sqrt 180 to cancel out the -1 in the denominator. The -1 came from the i squared in the denominator.
Alternatively, you could have multiplied by i sqrt, and then simplified the i sqaured to be -1. Thus you still get the negative answer.
