To answer the question you asked, the equation is
5.5x+32=57

If you want to know what x is:
5.5x = 57-32 =25
x = 25/5.5
x = 4.5454...

When solving equations with one variable in it "x," the main objective is getting X by itself. In order to do that:

first step: subtract 32 on both sides of equation. ( 5.5x=25) how I got 25: (57-32=25) what happened to the 32? (32-32=0)

second step: divide 5.5 on each side to get "X" by itself. now we have x=25/5.5  (5.5/5.5 cancels each other out)

third step: solve for x: x= 25/5.5  (x= 4.55) or 4.54545455

I hope this helps!  Let me know if you need any help with other problems!

It is just a linear equation with one variable x:
5.5x + 32 = 57
5.5x + 32 - 32 =57 - 32
5.5x = 25
(5.5x):5.5 = 25:5.5
x = 4.545454... - this is so-named recurring decimal

you can write the answer like 4.(54) or you can approximate it to 4.55 or 4.545 or 4.5455, etc.
