Can some one help me with these
solving systems of two variable equations
using the graphing technique

problem 1 y=3x

problem 2 y =x+2

problem 3 x – y= 10

Just need to graph each line , on scale and read the (x,y) on scale. The answer should be same answer as the algebraic solution.

    y = X+2

    3x -y =10

                            to graph. Y= x+2

 

                           intercept points : ( 0,2) y intercept, (-2,0) X-intercept. Graph by connecting the intercept

                               points.

 

                            to graph 3x - y = 10  : Intercepts : (0, -10) ,and ( 10/3, 0). Graph by connecting

                            intercepts.

 

                Y = X+2

                3X -y = 10

 

                     Solution by algebraic method.

                      Substitute Y in first equation into 2nd.

 

                3X - X -2 = 10

 

                 2X - 2 = 10

 

                 2X = 12

                   

                  X = 6

                  Substitute X =6 into 1st equation:

                  Y =6+2 =8

 

                   Answer : ( 6, 8) . The intersection point should read from scale ( 6,8).
