Hi Brianna
Without reading the story in question I can give you some information about how to handle this question. What the teacher is looking for is how well you understand the concept of point of view.
In order to answer this questions you need to think about who the narrator (the person telling the story) is in the version you read and how their perspective (what they can see/hear/know) affects the way they tell the story and then imagine how that would be different if someone else was telling the story.
If the story is currently told by someone other than the special needs person the story is about, maybe a relative or caregiver, what would be different about the story if it was told by the special needs person? Or what if it was told from the point of view (PoV) of an omniscient (all seeing, all knowing) narrator - someone who is able to know what everyone in the story is thinking and doing at all times? Or if it was told from the perspective of a pet - the service dog or another animal belonging to the main character? Or if it was told from the perspective of the wheelchair the special needs person uses to get around?
Do you see what I mean?
A story is different depending on who is telling it because each person in the story, or watching the story unfold, knows different things and has their own personal experiences that color the way they see things.
Imagine that something happened in school today and think about how the story would be different if you told it or your best friend told it or your teacher told it... that's what the teacher is looking for.
If you are interested in doing a draft and having me review it and help you improve it, I would be happy to help.
