Change 20 degree's to radian's in terms of pi

If 2pi equals 360 degrees which also equals 1 full circle, then 20 degrees would be 1/18 of a full circle. So if one full circle is 2pi, then 20 degrees would just be 1/18th of 2pi, which equals (1/9)pi or (pi/9). The TLDR version of this is:

 

1. Degrees to Radians = degree x (pi / 360degrees)

2. Radians to Degrees = radians x (360degrees /pi)

 

I feel that understanding the math is more important than brute strength memorizing the equation. It makes math easier.

One degree = pi / 180 radians.

 

So 20 degrees = 20 x pi / 180 = pi / 9 radians.

      180 degrees = ∏

 

        1 degree =  ∏/180

 

     20 degrees = (∏/180)*20

                      = 20 ∏/180

                      = ∏/9
