4 1/8 divided by 198/7

This is an improper number divided by a  mixed number. I think I start by converting the first number to an improper. Then, I take the reciprocal of 198/7. From there I believe I would try to ffind LCD. I get stuck after that.

We need to convert the mixed number into an improper fraction. 

 

Multiply the whole number by the denominator, then add the numerator to the result.  This is your numerator for the fraction.  Keep the denominator.

 

4 1/8 = 33/8

 

 

Now we can divide.

 

(33 / 8) / (198 / 7)

 

 

Multiply by the reciprocal of the second fraction.

 

(33 / 8) * (7 / 198)

 

 

So the LCD is not really needed here.  I leave multiplying the fractions to you.
