Find the remainder when P(x)=2x^2-3x+4 is divided by x+2

It uses the remainder theorem.

 (2x2 _ 3x + 4) - (2x2 + 4x) = -7x + 4, NOT 7x + 4.
 
The quotient is 2x - 7 and the remainder is 18.

Mark.  You made me realize my error.  I did not change the sign when I subtracted the product from the dividend.  I will correct my mistake here.

                    -7x + 4
                    -7x - 14

                            18
