calculate the value of a when

calculate the value of k when 2x3+4kx2-3k2x-2 divided by x-k gives a remainder of 10

David J.

This is where I get so confused- well, at least this is one place.
2x3+4kx2-3k2x-2 is not the same as 2x^3+4kx^2-3k^2x-2.
When I see "3k2x-2" I read "3k times 2x minus 2". It's a throwback to the way I was taught algebra back in the '70s.
