Not sure what you mean by "probability distribution p(X) such as X=1", but if you are trying to find the probability that both numbers are less than 3 it is given by
P(First Die < 3) * P(Second Die < 3)
since they are independent events
P(First Die < 3) = 2/6 since there are 2 chances to get a number less than 3 (1 or 2) out of 6 possible numbers
P(Second Die < 3) is also equal to 2/6
So the probability that both numbers are less than 3 is
(2/6) * (2/6) = (1/3) * (1/3) = 1/9
