(x-4)/[(x+4)(x-4)]+ (x+4)/[(x+4)(x-4)]
= [(x-4)+(x+4)]/[(x+4)(x-4)]
= 2x/(x2-16)

= x/[(x-4)(x+4)] + 1/(x+4)
common denominator is (x+4)(x-4) so multiply through by that
x/[(x-4)(x+4)] + (x-4)/[(x-4)(x+4)]

= (2x-4)/[(x-4)(x+4)]
