1 Answer

First, you can use the points to find the slope.

m = (y1 - y2)/(x1 - x2)

m = (2 - 1)/(4 - 3) = 1/1

m = 1

Then use the equation

y -y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 2 = x - 4

y = x - 2

Check your answer by plugging in your second point and seeing if the expression is true.

1 = 3 - 2

1 =1, which is true!
