First multiply out the right hand side
y - 2 = (3/4)x - 3/4
Now add 2 (which is equal to 8/4) to both sides
y = (3/4)x - 3/4 + 8/4 = (3/4)x + 5/4
That's it. (3/4) is the slope and 5/4 is the y-intercept
