asked 04/08/15The slope of a line through the point (0,0) is 2. What point is also on the line?
I don't know how to solve this. My teacher didn't go over this.

The line is going through the point of origin, so setting up the linear equation is easy.
y = mx + b
We are told that our slope is 2, so that goes into m:
y = 2x + b
The point we are given is (0, 0), so we're told what our y-intercept point is--it's at 0:
0 = 2*0 + b
0 = 0 + b
0 = b
So our graph equation looks like:
y = 2x
The question is asking you to find another point on this line. So if you put in a value for x, what do you get for y? (Such as if you put 3 into x, what do you get for y?)
Remember, it's asking you to put it as a point, so your final answer is going to look like (<x-value>, <y-value>)
