Help with algebraic word problem.

Question

Janice wants to create a test containing 20 questions worth 50 points. If Janice creates questions worth either two points or four points, she can include (Answer here) two-point questions and (Answer here) four-point questions.

Answer 1

T = number of two point questions

20 - T = number of four point questions

 

2T + 4(20 - T) = 50

2T + 80 - 4T = 50

-2T = -30

T = 15

 

She should use 15 two point questions and 5 four point questions.
