vertex (0,-3) through point (-2,6)
y = a(x-0)^2 -3 plug in the point to find "a"
6 = a(-2)^2 -3
9 = 4a
a = 9/4
y = 9x^2/4 -3 is the parabola's equation
or y = 2.25x^2 -3

y = ax2 - 3; 6 = a(- 2)2 - 3; 4a = 9; a = 9/4; y = 9/4x2 - 3;

In this question, we are given the vertex (0, -3) and the point (-2, 6)
We can represent the vertex as (h,k) (this means 0 is h and -3 is k)
Point representation is (x,y) (x = -2 and y is 6)
Plug this to the formula: y = a(x - h)^2 + k
6 = (-2x - 0h)^2 - 3 (Simply a = 4/9)
So plug this back to the original formula:
y = 4/9x -3
If you would want to graph this, go to desmos or just draw a coordinate plane and plug in x = 0, x = 1, x = 2, x = -1 and you should get a good graph.
