There are many pros!
- No need to rely on notes in many cases.
- See a piano at a party, event, or airport? You can play based on memory!
- You can be more creative with your playing, and it does not have to be exact such as if you were playing with a sheet of music.
- It's fun!
- Once you learn to play by memory, it is easier to start to learn how to play by ear and how to teach yourself to play new songs, solely based on your previously learned songs. This takes time, but is a huge pro in my opinion.
