On a map of the United States, the distance between Phoenix and Reno is 2.4 inches. The two cities are actually 768 miles apart. On this same map, what would be the distance between two cities that are 1408 miles apart?

if so...

768 miles/2.4 inches=320 miles/1 inch

1 inch=320 miles

 

two cities are 1408 miles apart

1408/320=4.4 inches on the map
