I assume we're looking for the points where
f(x) = 2x – 1
and
g(x) = 2 – x²
intersect.
f(x) = g(x) gives
2x – 1 = 2 – x²
which means
x² + 2x – 3 = (x – 1)(x + 3) = 0
with solutions x = 1 and x = –3
f(1) = g(1) = 1
f(–3) = g(–3) = –7
Answer
The two intersection points are
(1, 1) and (–3, –7)
