The line with equation y = (1/2)x - 1 has slope 1/2. So, any line perpendicular to that line has slope
-1 / (1/2) = -2.
An equation of the line with slope -2 and which passes through the point (1, -2) is:
y - (-2) = -2(x - 1)
Solve for y.
