What kind of experience do you have in Music Production?

Coordinating the redesign of the sound program in the Kathrine G. Mcgovern College of The Arts at University of Houston, I have instructed the class, Sound Art, as a teaching assistant and professor for five years, counseling faculty and students on the practice and history of sound as interdisciplinary art. The class covers digital and analog synthesis, transrealism in art, sonology, live electronics, and intermediality of sound and vision. Open to both undergraduate and graduate students from within the art department as well as students from departments outside the school of art, instructing the class affords me the opportunity to teach material to students coming from highly differentiated backgrounds. Every year in May at the conclusion of the semester I curate a collaborative sound performance with the students that is premiered at the annual MFA thesis show at the Blaffer Museum. Having experience as both a visual artist and an art historian has allowed me to craft assignments that cater to many different learning styles and capabilities.

My foundation in Music Production was in music theory, recording, mixing, and mastering classes at college. Our work was teacher and peer reviewed, and everyone in the community strived for excellence. But you can't get by on schooling alone! I've been working and developing my skills for nearly 5 years as a freelance producer, editor, mixer, and recording engineer here in Nashville, collaborating with many local artists across the pop, rock, folk, and otherwise indie genres. I have had close to ten years of experience studying modern music production as well as mixing and mastering practices primarily on the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) FL Studio. Utilizing so much of the skills I learned as a seasoned musician and instrumentalist along with years of computer and tech knowledge, I have released several albums and projects personally as well as produced tracks for many other artists and personal friends.I've collaborated on a number of different projects with other producers, artists and engineers as well as also having the privilege of sitting in on and studying a few professional recoding sessions in recording studios in New Mexico with different local artists. My catalogue of production work has been focused primarily in Hip-Hop/Rap but I have also studied a ton of modern Pop music, RnB, some Latin genres including Reggaeton and Afrobeat as well as some Rock.

Let's dive in! From touring the world to sing and perform for festivals and audiences since I was 8, to working at the largest studio in my state, my experience is vast and diverse! Not only do I have knowledge and experience in music production for others, but I produce, mix, master, write, and perform all of my music! With 2 albums and 18 total songs, I have both released, and help release several artists songs and help them create their masterpieces! YOUR IMAGE IS BEAUTIFUL AND DESERVES TO BE CREATED! Real-life work experience is invaluable when it comes to gaining expertise. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of working as a session musician in Los Angeles. This has provided me with incredible opportunities to engage in challenging and inspiring session work, where I have taken on various roles, ranging from recording individual instruments to overseeing entire productions.
