You should learn formula a3 + b3 = (a + b)(a2 - ab + b2 ) (proof is on the web at https://byjus.com/maths/a-cube-b-cube-formula/)
So here (a3 + c3)/(a + c) = (a + c)(a2 - ac + c2)/(a + c) So the (a + c) terms cancel,
leaving a2 - ac + c2
