We can simplify the expression but this is not an equation. An equation would have an equal sign. There are 4 variables here but no equal sign.
The 2 bases are m and n and they should be simplified separately and independent of each other. As Mark says, use the Laws of Exponents. Write back if this is an issue and I will show you tomorrow. (Or he might.)
