if f(1)=4 and f(n)=f(n-1)^2+5 then find the value of f(3)

If f(n) is the function listed, f(1) = 5, so something is off.

I'm sorry but I don't understand your comment. I went with what was given i.e. f(1) = 4 and then used the recursive rule twice to find f(3).
