Go To Person for Resume and Career Related Documents and Help - MSEd
I like this question. AI certainly has and will continue transforming how people and machines "communicate." Recently, I experienced something related to this question of beefing up the resume. A popular social media platform hosts thousands if not millions of resumes of professionals. Many of these professionals work contently in the field while others do seek employment. The individual profiles of the professionals contain opportunity for posting a digital resume of sorts. Also, hiring groups or organizations can match job openings and post them to the platform.
I began realizing that some of the career positions and opportunities posted matched me lower than expected. After all, I do know even simple things like Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Upon researching this, it came to my attention that the hiring organization has a checklist of skills deemed as necessary or desired for the new role. If the resume does not mention the skill in question, then my profile ranks lower on the matching scale. So, though I am not actively looking for employment --- I'm self employed -- working with the wording of different job descriptions listed on my personal resume has crept onto my radar as an interesting highlight. I recommend assessing the "skills details" on a per job opening basis. For example, on this particular social media platform, towards the middle of a job posting, I see, "Skill Details." It clearly shows which ones of the skills I am considered matched. The opposite also rings true. For example, "Google Docs" does not show as a matched skill though I am very proficient in this one. So, if I did decide to apply for this particular position. I should go type "Google Docs" into the resume. Additionally, this platform has now graciously added a plus sign feature. While still on this job posting, I can click the plus sign next to Google Docs. So, I just clicked the check mark just now. I am prompted to share which position I used this skill, so I check my current work as an Education Specialist. This now has increased my match rating for the position. Does this make sense? Check to see if something similar exists for the job search platform you happen to see them using AI.
