Normally, to find the slope using two points, we would use m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1) and substitute the values of each of the points. However, in this case both points have an x-value of -8, so the equation that represents this line is x = -8. For this reason, the slope is undefined.
To prove this mathematically, simply substitute the values into the slope formula.
m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
= (6 - 2) / (-8 - (-8)) = (4) / (-8 + 8)
= 4 / 0
= undefined
