2x+2y=404

y=4x-3

2x+2(4x-3)=404

10x=404

what do i do from there?

Mark M. is correct. Divide both sides by 10. But I noted a problem with the preceeding calculation:

2x+2(4x-3)=404 is correct. Good work.

10x=404 is not correct. Try this:

2x+2(4x-3)=404

2x+8x-6=404

10x = 410 [+6 must be added to both sides before dividing by 10]

x = 41 yards

That makes y = 161 yards [y=4x-3]

2x = 82

2y = 322

Perimeter = 404 This checks out correctly.
