Multiplying Polynomials: (x-2)(-x^2+3x+1)

Mark M.

What is preventing you from using FOIL and distributive property as suggested?

The distributive law for real numbers says: a(b+c)=ab+ac.

Basically you're going to end up multiplying x by all three terms in the 2nd parenthesis, then mult -2 by all the terms in the 2nd paren (total of 6 calculations). Then combine like terms.
