Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
m= 20, a =50
560 miles total
20+50 = 70
560/70 = 56/7 = 8 hours until they meet
20 mph times 8 = 160
50 mph times 8 = 400
160+ 400 = 560 miles

If they really do meet in the middle they'll both travel 560/2 = 280 miles!
However, if the question is how far M travels before the meet, can do the following:
Dm + Am = 560
D = rt They're both on the road for the same length of time since they leave at the same time.
20t + 50t = 560
70t = 560. t = 8 hours
M will travel 20(8) = 160 mi.
A will travel 50(8) = 400 mi. Total 560 mi. No, they won't meet in the middle!
