g(x)=x^2-9 how does the following function differ from the one above. Transformation: (the one above is y=x^2) ?
For any given value of x, we know that x2 - 9 is 9 less than x2. That is, for a given value of x, g(x) is 9 less than y(x). Of course, that means that the curve of y(x) is shifted down 9 units to form g(x).
