3x-2y > 12
whatever the points are: (x,y), (1,2), (10, 3)
plug in the point and see if it works
(1,2) means x=1, y=2
3(1)-2(2) = 3-4 = -1 which is not greater than 12
(10,3) means x=10, y=3
3(10)-2(3) = 30-6 = 24 which is greater than 12
or if you're in a restaurant, order some pears, then look at the ordered pears the waiter/waitress brings you and see if they fit in the inequality. but if one pear is bigger than the other, that's not a good clue.
