Area of a rectangle is length x width ( lw ).
In this case, the Area is 50 m2 and the length is 5m less than 3 times the width, so length = 3w - 5
The equation for Area of the rectangle becomes :
50 m2 = (3w - 5) x ( w )
solve for w gives, (-10/3 and 5).
The only answer that works is w=5.
Plug in 5 and solve for l, l=10
