Jordan is jogging on a path modeled by the equation x+y=25. Katherine is jogging on a path modeled by the equation y^2/60^2+x^2/40^2=1. At what points do their paths intersect? Show your work.

You want to find out where the Line intersects the Ellipse you can use a substitution. Since x + y = 25, then y = 25 - x. Substitute (25-x) for y in the equation for the Ellipse and carefully solve for x, by finding a least common denominator, and using the quadratic formula. It is a little work but give it a try.
