Here are the steps:
Equation of a circle: (x - h)2 + (y - k)2 = r2 Center is at (h,k), r is radius.
If center is at (0,0) then h and k = 0
How to find r if point (-3,2) is on the circle? If center is at the origin (0,0) then there's a right triangle formed with r as the hypotenuse and two sides of length 2 and 3 (try to sketch it). So r2 = 22 + 32 = 13
Equation is (x - 0)2 + (y - 0)2 = 13 → x2 + y2 = 13 in standard form.
General form is the standard form expanded by multiplying out the squared terms, but in this case h and k = 0, so you'd get the same result.
