As stated, there isn't enough information to answer your question. It depends on how f(x) is defined exactly.
It could be a polynomial, in which case it might look like f(x) = 7x5 + 3x4 .... + 2x + 7.
It could be a trigonometric function, in which case it might look like f(x) = sin(x), or f(x) = cos(x), or f(x) = sec(x).
It could be an exponential function, in which case it might look like f(x) = 3x or f(x) = 7ex.
It could be a logarithmic function, in which case it might look like f(x) = ln(x).
Or it could be any number of other types of functions.
We would have to see the actual definition of the function before being able to tell what type of function it is.
