Assuming you're being asked to expand from factored form, so it's just the distributive property (in 2 steps).
Part I is to expand the 1st 2 factors: (x - 3)(x - 1) becomes x2 - 3x - 1x + 3 which simplifies to x2 - 4x + 3
Part II is to multiply the trinomial (from Part I) by (x + 2):
So, (x + 2)(x2 - 4x + 3) >> distribute x term of binomial >> x3 - 4x2 + 3x
Then, distribute the 2 across the trinomial as with x >> 2x2 - 8x + 6
Add like terms: x3 - 2x2 - 5x + 6
