The length of a new rectangular playing field is 2 yards longer than double the width. If the perimeter of the rectangular playing field is ​280 yards, what are its​ dimensions?

L = 2+2W

P=2(L+W) = 2(2+2W +W) = 2(2+3W) = 4+6W = 280

6W = 280-4

6W = 276

W = 276/6 = 46 feet wide

L=2+2(46) = 2+92 = 94 feet long

2(46+94)=2(140) = 280
