For clarity's sake, I am assuming when you say "integer 1 is equal to 100, the integer 10 is equal to 101, the integer 100 is equal to 102, the integer 1,000 equals 103, and so on," you mean:

1. 1 = 10^0
2. 10 = 10^1
3. 100 = 10^2
4. 1000 = 10^3

The "^" is used as a way showing power

Moving onto the problem of finding 500 in terms of powers of 10.

Let's break the number 500 down.

500 = 5 *100 as 500 is a multiple of 100

From the given information, we know that 100 = 10^2
