Think of a function as a rule or an instruction.
(fog)(x) is composite function notation which is another way of saying f(g(x)).
This means that you first apply an instruction g to x and then apply that result another instruction f.
Can you see that if g(x) was 5 - 6x and f(x) was 2x this would fit perfectly?
