Linear Models assignment

Rent-A-Wreck rents cars for daily use. The cost of renting a car from them is r(x)=0.26x+36 where r is the daily cost based upon x number of miles driven. Jalopies-R-Us also rent cars for daily use. The cost of renting a car from them is j(x)=0.36x+22 where j is the daily cost based upon x number of miles driven. Find the following.

(a) How much does it cost to rent a car for the day from Rent-a-Wreck and drive it 66 miles? $

 (b) How many miles can you drive if you rent a car for a day from Jalopies-R-Us and it costs you $32.80?

 (c) After how many miles is the cost of renting a car for the day the same from both companies?    Round your answer to two decimals

Hello Ngoc, For part a) Substitute x = 66 into 0.26x + 36 and simplify the resulting numerical expression to find the cost of renting a car for the day from Rent-a-Wreck For part b) Substitute j(x) with 32.80 and solve the resulting equation for x to find the number of miles that can be driven if you rented from Jalopies-R-Us For part c) Set r(x) = j(x) and solve for the value of x. This value of x represents the number of miles that result in the same cost from both companies.
