Given where the 5 is in the problem statement, I suspect it's actually the fifth root of (x+8).

We can evaluate 3rd, 5th, 7th ... roots for all real x, so in this case the 8+x can be all real numbers, so x can be all real numbers, so the domain is all real numbers
