A complex number, denoted as z, has the form:
z = a + ib
where a is the real part and ib is the imaginary part. If we re-write your number a bit, we get:
z = -(√5)/2 + i(√2)/2
Can you figure it out now?

The real part is -SQRT(5)/2 and the imaginary part is i*SQRT(2)/2. You need the "i" in the imaginary part - it's what makes it imaginary.
