A local water park found that if the price was $16, the attendance was about 2850 customers per week. When the price of admission was dropped to $10,attendance increased to about 3100 per week. Write a linear equation for the attendance in terms of the price, p. (A=mp+b)

when A = 2850, p=16, so 2850 = 16m + b

when A = 3100, p = 10. so 3100 = 10m + b.

These are two equations with two unknowns that can be solved by substitution.

From the first equation, b = 2850 - 16m.

Substitute into the second equation, 3100 = 10m +2850 - 16m and solve for m.

Now substitute the value of m into either of the starting equations.

You should get A = -41.7p +3517
