Let's use m to represent the number of months and n to represent the number of minutes.
In plan A, for every month, you will be paying $20. So, we get 20m and for every minute you will be paying 7 cents so we get .07n. To get the total cost of the plan, we add the two.
Plan A - 20m + .07n
In plan B, for every month, you will be paying $38. So, we get 38m and for every minute you will be paying 4 cents so we get .04n. To get the total cost of the plan, we add the two. '
