Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
take f(x) = e^x and reflect it across the line y=x
that gives f(x)= lnx which never intersects the y axis
e^x is an exponential function
the inverse of y=e^x is x=e^y
x=e^y is an exponential function which never crosses the y axis
the y intercept would be where x=0, but 0=e^y has no solution
take natural logs of both sides
x = e^y
lnx = y
y=lnx
f(x)=lnx never crosses the y axis
